My very first American Icon!
I was going through my old WIP pictures and thought it would be fun to walk you through my very first native American piece.
I love how the wood grain looks in this picture. The face is beginning to take shape. Faces are always the hardest part for me & I usually save them for last. Interesting how I conquered my first portrait face first!
And just like that, there is lots of color in the headdress and this lush lavender background! He makes me happy to revisit!
He came out so MAJESTIC, quite the proud & stoic portrait of a true American! I made him years ago and he has a forever home in Aspen, Colorado. This collector also has the very first COWGIRL that I made!
