This Denver mosaic mural was imagined by the kids to represent their community. In this case at the center of the mandala circle is dedication to a teacher who lost her life too young. The ideas came directly from brainstorming with the student's who wanted this teacher to be surrounded by love, community, diversity and friendship.
LYONS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 2015
Working with children is a joy, and introducing them to mosaics is a gift. This piece was all about “the river that runs through” this small mountain town of Lyons, Colorado.
Six months later, this town had the worst flooding in history, wiping out most of the town. Every child who worked on this mural was air lifted from their homes, but the mural was safe, hung high in the schools library and is still there today.

In memory of a beloved teacher & father of 6, with his students & his wife who is also a teacher, we created this mosaic mural in 3 parts: a border of “words of Wisdom”, the mountain scape as seen from the window of his classroom, and all the stars in the sky representing his students.
PATHFINDERS HEALING HEARTS
Pathfinders is a Colorado non-profit, psychosocial support program for those suffering from grief and loss. By focusing on the social, emotional and spiritual issues accompanying a diagnosis or loss of a loved one, I have been able to foster healing and personal growth through the mosaic arts.
